Challenges
Waltham Parish Council was ready to modernise its systems and boost security. The key priorities were moving all council data and emails into Microsoft 365, improving protection for staff devices and accounts, and adopting a trusted .gov.uk domain. The council also recognised the importance of training councillors to make the most of the new tools - planned for the next stage of their digital journey. 

Approach
In May 2025, CloudyIT delivered a full digital upgrade. We migrated all data and emails to Microsoft 365 and set up a new .gov.uk domain to reflect the council’s official status. We also enrolled staff devices into Microsoft Intune, enabling remote management and security enforcement. To keep the council protected from modern threats like malware and ransomware, we implemented Cyber Pro 24 - an advanced cyber defence service that provides round-the-clock monitoring and alerts, giving the council peace of mind that their systems are being actively protected at all times. Councillor training has been booked to follow soon. 

Outcomes
The council now benefits from a secure and modern working environment. With data in Microsoft 365, a professional .gov.uk domain, and 24/7 protection through Cyber Pro, staff can work more efficiently and confidently. Device management is streamlined, and councillors are soon to be trained to take full advantage of the new setup.
